Yes, some 2006 Jeep Commander models do have a cabin air filter. However, it depends on the specific trim level and options installed.
To check if your 2006 Jeep Commander has a cabin air filter, you can consult the owner's manual or contact a Jeep dealership or mechanic. If your vehicle does have a cabin air filter, it is typically located behind the glove compartment and can be replaced easily.
You talking engine air filter or cabin filter? Engine air filter is located in air box in engine compartment.. unclamp , open box , remove old filter, wipe out box, replace new filter , reclamp box.
Cabin filter located under cowl just below windshield. remove cowl bolts / plastic rivets. pull off cowl .. filter is in center and slides out like a drawer.. slide in new filter and replace cowl.
The air filter will filter the air going into the engine and is located in the engine compartment. The cabin filter filters the are entering the passenger compartment and is located behind the glove box. The other filter would be the fuel filter, It is typically located or mounted on the firewall in the engine compartment.
If you would like more details on any of these don't hesitate to ask!
The cabin air filter is actually pretty easy to change. Here are the steps:
Set the air conditioning system to Recirculation. The case for the cabin air cannot be removed with the system in the Outside Air mode.
Turn the engine off.
Open the Glove Compartment
unclip the damper rod on the ride side of the glove compartment. To unclip it usually it is just a squeeze tab but sometimes it is a phillips head screwdriver.
The glove compartment now must be squeezed together at the rear to allow the tabs to be released. Just let the glove compartment hang down.
Through the glove compartment opening, locate the filter cover and remove.
Remove dirty filter and replace with the new and reverse steps 1-5 to put it back together.
Shouldnt take to long usually takes me about 5 minutes to change it.
As for the toyota cabin air number im not to sure on that but you can go to any parts store and pick up an aftermarket cabin air which will save you a bit of money, same quality..
The cabin air filter is located behind the glove box, you will have to remove the glove box, behind the glove box is a cover about 1" high and 7" long, remove that cover and you will see a tray that holds the cabin air filter, remove the tray and you can replace the paper cabin air filter, I recomend using a Toyota cabin air filter, the Toyota cabin air filter is a HEPA air filter and is available at any Toyota dealer for about $ 30
