SOURCE: 2001 Mercury Mountaineer won't start

Have a load test done on the battery. If it checks out good, take a voltmeter to the battery and have an assistant rotate the engine. If you see more than a 2 volt drop when the car is being started, the starter is heading south.

SOURCE: In 97 mercury mountaineer, how to turn off "check engine" light

Go to the local parts store, have them check the codes (they will do this for free usually). It will tell you what sensor needs to be checked/replaced. Once the part is replaced, it will clear on its own. They can also reset the code, but it will come back if the trouble persists.

SOURCE: 2003 Mountaineer won't start, battery is good.

CHECK BATTERY CABLES AND FOR CORROSION,A BAD GROUND OR BAD CONNECTION WILL CREATE ENOUGH RESISTANCE TO PREVENT STARTER TO CRANK OVER ENGINE. IF BATTERY HAS 12V DOESN'T MEAN IT'S GOOD,IT COULD HAVE ON 100 CCA'S, NOT ENOUGH.

SOURCE: need keyless entry code 1998 mercury mountaineer.

If you have the Keys to the vehicle you can get in. Giving that code out will put other vehicle at risk. If you have a manual it will have the reset code in it. Try using the manual first if that does not work go the dealership.

Anti theft system bypass

Other than just bypassing the whole security system {cutting and splicing wires} 2 things, check the battery in the remote, if that still fails take the remote to the dealer {Oriely Autos also have remote testers} and ask them to test it for you, saves you pulling wires and shorting the system out completely. good luck.

My truck won't turn on not even my lights and radio the whole truck:) please help:)

Check the battery. Make sure both connections are clean and tight. If they have acid/crud on them,..use baking soda and water to clean it off. If it still doesnt work,...time to get a battery.
