Question about Cars & Trucks
I recently bought a 1990 Audi 100. The driver's side door can only be locked and unlocked by manually pressing the lock, or by turning the key in the passenger door. What's more pressing is that a couple days ago the key now won't unlock any door. I can manually press the lock which effects all doors, but the key has no effect. Turning the key in the driver and passenger door DOES engage and disengage the alarm though. I'm not even sure where to begin on this.
If memory serves, the Audi's and VW's used a vacuum system to lock and unlock the doors and trunk, check to see if the vacuum pump (usually in the trunk in a styrofoam box) is working and if there are any leaks in the system
