R u start the car in cold morning or any cold condition? If so, it is normal revs up itself. Sometimes I see some cars revs up to 2000 rpm for 2 to 5 mins, then drop down to 1000 rpm.
G'day
I dont know if this will help but i had a similar problem with an isuzu sbr and after doing all that you have done i took the fuel tank off and drained it. Every thing looked fine so i washed it out with a little bit of petrol and a small piece of clear plastic came out. What it was doing was floating up when the truck was not running but after i started the truck it would slowly get sucked down to the outlet and block the fuel line.
It was very frustrating and it took me quite a while to find the problem.
hope this helps.
Check make sure all plugs are firing. Sounds like what my 93 Rodeo was doing-Idled okay but very rough when in gear. Turns out only 5 out of 6 plugs were firing due to a defective ignition module- 100 bucks later it works fine.
when my mazda mx5 is warmed up the engine idles at 800 revs after about 20 seconds the revs drop to 400 revs, after 5 seconds they pickup again to 800 revs, this pattern is continuous.HELP!!!!!
The usal trick is to fit the diffs from a petrol fronteria of the same year as they are lower geared cos the petrol revs higher .
A couple of minutes after a long run is good .
i suspect the throttle body has lost its basic settings for some reason, ive only known of that happening a few times tho,but that is the symptoms of a throotle unit, plug in a scanner check the codes and reset the throttle body in basic settings
