No acceleration, minimal movement of accelerator pedal.

I have a P reg peugeot 406 LX 1.9 Turbo diesel and there is next to no acceleration in any of the gears and also there is only about an inch and a half of movement in the accelerator pedal. ive read similar problems on the site regarding turbo pipes being split and was wondering if this could be the problem or if there was a an adjuster for the accelerator cable?

Hi, test your turbo pipes,
these are common to split, its the big fat pipe o/s is the 1 that splits, feel around it im sure it has a large split. to test the turbo squeeze that large pipe and get some 1 to rev, it has to inflate very hard and open your hand, if not listen for hissing if not check the turbo and air filter as might be sucked up, again its common

The symptoms you have given sound to me like the timing could be off. Could be crossed wires or improperly aligned timing gears during the replacement of the belt.

Peugeot 4007, 2011 2.2 diesel. Have fault code P2128. Engine missing when accelerator just beginning to be depressed. Any clues if the two are related?

your fault code is for Accelerator pedal position sensor/switch E high input. Your vehicle has a drive by wire throttle setup which means there is a wiring loom instead of a cable from the pedal to the engine and the pedal sensor is there to provide the engine ecu with the info of how much acceleration the driver is applying with his foot

hi there should be a lock barrel somewhere in the front of the carit will be eithe rin the glove box, on the side of the dashboard on the passanger side, in the center console near the handbrake or to the lower right of thr steering wheel on the dashboard
with this you can use your car key to turn off the passanger air bag off (note- this will put the airbag light on)

I changed the cambelt on a 406 1.9 turbo diesel it fires but the engine will not run (r reg)

You've probably allowed the crankshaft to move while you had the belt off, putting the timing out by a small amount. There will be some kind of marks top and bottom somewhere to align before you put the belt backon. I need to do this preventative maintenance on my 406 2litre diesel - I'm trying to work out how difficult it is!
