Numbered 4 in this picture. I think this so of an older model but they haven't hardly changed these motors at all.

SOURCE: 1997 buick lasabre custom high idle, transmission, stalling

had same problem i would check the Idel Air Valve and also check all of your vaccum hose lines makeing sure there are no cracks or splits in rubber connectors if there is repair immediatelt because over time they start to dammage the internal parts fo the engine and if youve replace tps mass air etc. sounds like a vaccum hose problem

SOURCE: Crankshaft Position Sensor and Camshaft Position Sensor

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

  1. Serpentine belt from the crankshaft pulley.
  2. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
  3. Right front tire and wheel assembly.
  4. Right inner fender access cover.
  5. Using a 28 mm socket, remove the crankshaft harmonic balancer retaining bolt.
  6. Crankshaft harmonic balancer using tool J 38192 or equivalent.
  7. Sensor electrical connector.
  8. Foreign object deflector.
  9. Sensor and pedestal from block face.
  10. Sensor from pedestal.
INSTALL OR CONNECT:

  1. Loosely install the crankshaft sensor on the pedestal.
  2. Position the sensor with pedestal attached on special Tool J 37089.
  3. Position the special tool on the crankshaft.
  4. Bolts to hold the pedestal to the block face, torque to 20-40 Nm (14-28 lb.ft).

SOURCE: diagram for 1998 buick lasabre serpentine belt

I found the diagram in my owner's manual.
I replaced the belt on mine just 2 days ago. All you need to do is remove one bolt from the lower motor mount and remove the spacer. After you relieve the belt tensioner, the belt will slip right through the gap. Don't forget to support the engine before removing the bolt. As a backup I took a photo of the belt with my digital camera beforehand... just in case.

2010 buick enclave...need to know location of camshaft position sensor

I think some people (myself included) are confused between camshaft and crankshaft position sensors. I believe their are 4 camshaft position sensors in 2 banks, I’d like to know all these locations as I have p0014 and p0021 corresponding to both banks of CAM shaft sensors. Where are these locations please? I have 2009 Enclave also.

1998 buick regal, wont idle ,it acts like its getting to much fuel, every time we start it just shuts off replaced mass air flo sensor but thats not it?

It seems like it needs the idle control position sensor or the camshaft or crankshaft position sensors. Take to autoparts store for free scan for trouble code.

1998 Buick Century 3.1 engine

camshaft position sensor it is located on the engine block on the belt side of the motor there is also a crank position sensor that is located on that same side, that is behind the main belt pulley. basically the computer is sensing that these two sensors are out of sync with each other this is a common problem, and is corrected by replacing the camshaft position sensor in most cases. Otherwise check the connections and wiring to the sensor please rate -jeff
