Engine light blinking, shaking Has a misfire bad enough that will damage the catalytic converter . Bad coil's , plug's , ignition module going bad . Have the vehicle checked for DTC'S diagnostic trouble codes .
Have your fuel filter changed, your fuel filter may be at the end of it's life time and is dirty. The fuel filter should be replaced every 15,000 miles or once a year to ensure that the fuel system is running at 100%. Try that first and if there is an Auto Zone around your area, have the car scanned for the DTC codes. Auto Zone scan free of charge and can give you the recommended steps to addressing the issue that is causing your engine problem. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help you get your car running 100% again soon.
Hello and yes this can be bad gas. This also can be something that can be fixed with a simple fuel or air filter change as well. I would do a basic tune up of spark plugs and wires which may fouled out it sounds like, oil and filter, air filter, and fuel filter. I would also change the distributor cap and rotary button. These few tune up items may help your rough running automobile. If you have any other questions email me and I hope you resolve this issue.
