On a cold start, my cars radiator fan starts up but at high speed (sounds like a jet engine). it is below 30 degrees out and i have my heat and a/c off. once it starts up it never stops for the full drive. this started about 3 days ago and now my check engine light came on. My tempature gauge reads as 'normal', and there are no leaks under, in or around my engine bay. Need answers
The fans regulator may have gone bad and dont know when to really turn on or how fast to spin as a car gets hotter the compter tells the fans to go faster

it's too early to tell. i,ve never known a light to come on because of a thermostat.you need to see what code was stored. without knowing,im just guessing. but my first thought was a plugged up catalytic converter. that explains the low power,also fuel filter.

sounds like you have either a bad sensor, or maybe a vacuum leak. is your check engine light on? if so, then try to have somebody plug in a code reader to find the trouble codes, and that will be a very good starting point. repost the information that you get, and well be able to help you out a little better. if there is no check engine light, then you most likely have a vacuum leak. maybe a cracked hose, or a hose that came off of its fitting? its time consuming, but a visual inspection of all of the vacuum lines is the best way to find this problem,without having to take your truck to a mechanic.

I had this problem with a 2007 Chevy Cobalt. I changed the coolant sensor and even though the check engine light went out I still had a reading of "---" on the coolant gauge. The problem is most likely one of three things: a low coolant level, a bad coolant sensor, or the thermostat needs to be replaced. The only other possible thing it could be is a bad BCM (Body Control Module) which in that case you would most likely be having other weird problems.
The Thermostat and the sensor are both very easy to get to and replace. Take off the engine cover by removing the oil cap and they are both to the rear of the engine on the driver's side. They are right next to each other.

I just checked the check engine error and it came up as error code 'P00B7 - Engine Coolant Flow Low/Performance' but my coolant reads full at cold startup.
I also face the same kind of problem. In my case Engine light is on and Fan is running most on the time.
throwing P00B7 . For me they top off the coolant and replaced water pump. Check for water pump it should be water pump might be leaking.
I was facing same issue in my car, but when a local mechanic diagnose the fan ,found that it was some small electrical fault and he got that repaired ..now its ok ...show it to a electrician for current supply .i hope it will solve
