2008 GMC Acadia radio won't turn on

Just got back from getting a second key fob, dealership had to order it and program it, now the radio won't turn on. Clock displays, but no radio, upper left there is a dot, no readout to explain what's going on. Any ideas?

The radio and BCM needs read for codes. No reason for the radio not to work after a FOB program. Just a guess, but if the battery power was to low, radio is locked out.

SOURCE: how to change your headlamp in a 2008 gmc acadia

Open the hood and look in the area behind the headlight itself. You will see the wires running in to the light through a collar. Turn the collar counter clockwise and remove the assembly. Remove the bulb and plug in the new bulb and reverse the process to replace.

How do i reset the security light 2008 GMC Acadia Car will not start Security Light is on.

call a dealership don't try rigging anything you may have to have a official dealership reset it for you but first try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes put key into ignition and turn it to start position as if you were starting the vehicle to help drain capacitors then find something to occupy you for atleast 10 mins while battery is disconnected (you may have to reprogram your radio stations so make sure you know them.

I can't start my 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee with either key fob. Once I got a "Service Security Key" message. Another time I got the "Key not programmed - Damaged key" message. What...

Hi Hal,

Did you ever get this resolved? Looks like you didn't get any feedback here! I'm having the same issue sporadically. I turn the key and nothing. Usually if I keep trying it will eventually start cranking and start. Usually within 10 - 15 tries. happened last night. After it started, I got the "Service Security Key" message. I looked in the manual and it does say what that means. Don't know if it is programming (probably not because the fob works 97% of teh time) or maybe just a dying battery. If you can share anything you might have founf out I'd appreciate it! thanks!
