I would recommend replacing your relay. From what you have described your battery might be bad. The clicking you heard is consistent with this. Natuarally though the relay is probably cheaper to fix. Also if you're car was slow to start or was dragging when you were trying to start it, you may have a bad starter, which would cause the aforementioned

SOURCE: Tail lights don't work, but brake, flash and hazzard work.

generally when the fuse is ok and the bulb is ok the problem is corrosion of the ground wire and connection to the frame, or corrosion in the bulb sockets. for starters go to any auto parts store and get an aerosol can of contact cleaner especially for auto bulbs and connections.

You will have to check there is an output voltage from the switch ( suspect plug connector) . If you say the fuses are ok then you will have to try either a relay or fuse box connector . Good luck

My tag light in my 99 Ford Windstar not working even after I changed bulbs

Check the wiring to that socket. Possibly a wire broke or bad bulb socket. The license plate light is only a splice from the tail light wires, so if both or all tail lights work from the park/headlight switch, the tag light problem is right there at the rear. If you have a voltmeter or a test light, check for power to the bulb socket with the park lights on.

Tail lights and dash lights is no working

did you check them in the dark to see if , not just dim?
what sub model, EX, or LX? the LX is very different.
the car has 2 fuse boxes. did you know that, most cars do.
the fuse is called fuse #10 (fuse 10 runs hazards too, are haz dead?)
box one in cab, and 2 in engine bay.
the HAZ fuse is marked, HAZ

park/dash dim all dead, this is the largest path in car, over 20 lamps on most cars. (lots of places to mess up)
all are dead, all parks, front , rear, side and cab (dim) dead??????
even the license plate lamp>>>> details?,,,,, help, im blind..
here ill login to alldata.com for you, so can you at anytime.

ok this car can have a tail light relay. the LX dont have one.
the combo switch (1st click ) turns on park(tails)
and the relay energizes and runs all the park lamps.
but not on the LX, the LX is switch direct drive to all parks.
so?????

found this with google. NON LX !!!

Fuse #10 (15A) Audio unit, pocket light, clock, climate control, cruise switch light, gauge assembly, hazard switch light, heater control panel, interior lights switch light, driver's multiplex control unit, power sliding doors switch light, rear A/C switch light, taillight relay TCS swtich light.

1999 FORD WINDSTAR LX SPORT VAN

The filaments likely broke in the newly replaced bulbs. Replace them with LED type replacements, if your local parts store does not carry them, they can be ordered from Digikey, http://www.digikey.com

That should remedy the problem.

License plate lights do not work. Bulbs changed still does not work. The right brake light does not work. Changed bulb and plug. Turning signals work, tail lights work. All works on the left side.

Well for the license plat you might wanna check the fuse. and the brake light if one works fine then I'm sure you need a new bulb in the other side. Good luck

1999 Windstar has the air bag light on the horn is not working and the controls on dash (gas temp etc) just goes wild flopping everywhere.

under your steering wheel, is a part called a clock spring which controls your airbag/horn........removal of steering wheel is necessary
it looks like a round thing with multiple colored wires coming out of it.
the replacement is available at your local Ford dealer

PS: disconnect battery first! you will need a steering wheel puller to do the job.

Door lights not turning on when the door is opened

Windstars have problems with door switches. The last owner likely clipped the wires to the defective switches because the lights would not go off.
