If latch does not work ,you will have to get in from back seat,if it does not fold down look at floor level front of rear seat for a release for seat,if you see nothing try pushing back on bottom front of seat and lifting up.Back of seat should have fasteners on each side, remove and lift up on seat back, should have some accessto get to pull emergency release in trunk

My Honda Accord latch is broken. I can not open the gas tank door and the trunk won't close. It has to be a problem in the latch because it controls both gas tank door and trunk door

emergency release should be in the trunk as for the closing of the trunk, you need to disconnect the cable at the trunk latch until you can get it fixed

1996 Lincoln Town Car trunk motor won't shut off

under the trunk lip (directly where the latch goes into the lock jaws; remove the carpet so that you can see the side of the trunk latch; on the latch jaws (bottom) is a switch that contacts the latch (top) this switch is broken or, mis-aligned it opens (stops the trunk motor) when the latch contacts it.

Trunk will not open

Your latch may be broken go though the trunk though the back seat. Check to see if the latch is broken; or stuck. There is a little hole where all you have to do is use a screwdriver turn clockwise if trunk opens then your latch is either broken or your locking mechanism is stuck. Good luck and hope this helps you.

2003 VW Jetta trunk does not open

most likely cause is latch cover plastic has broken and got lodged in the latch mechanism. now the fun part, fold down back seat , slide into trunk with a phillips screwdriver a flashlight and a large strait blade screwdriver, once in trunk remove trunk cover, then with strait blade unlatch the trunk. once lid is open remove latch and take out broken plastic to free up latch and reinstall then retest before closing trunk.
