SOURCE: how do i reset a safe radio of a vw golf 2007

If you don't have the radio card with the code, then you would have to go to the dealer to reset safe code. I hope this helps!

SOURCE: Hi, problem with 2007 VW Citi Golf radio security code.

The radio is in Lock-Out mode. You only get two attempts to enter the code, then it enters Lock-Out mode.
Put the key in ignition and turn on the radio for an hour (maybe a bit more). The radio should reset itself after about an hour and then you can re enter the code.

SOURCE: vw golf .... alpha...... safe 2

"2 safe" means that your radio was in safe mode, and then the code was improperly entered 2 times. you either need to disconnect your battery and leave it for up to 4 hours (i've been told), or leave your key in the ignition for around an hour.

once it comes out of "2 safe" mode, then it will just say SAFE and give you the numbers 1-0-0-0. You just need to enter the 4 digit code (using your pre-set numbers 1-2-3-4 to change the numbers), then hold the seek > button and your radio should come on.

If you don't have the code, call VW. they'll find your code for free. they did for me. if not they'll charge like $50 or something.

SOURCE: hi, I got a 2007

remove your radio. There is a code on the back (provided it is oe) Take the code and proof of ownership to the parts dept. of your VW dealer and they can provide the code. If you are not the original owner, check your owner's manual, as people are advised to wright it inside there.

I have a VW golf 1999 but I cannot get the safe mode off the radio. Struck in mode with the number 2 in the lethand corner. Any suggestions on how to fix?

IMPORTANT NOTE: You must have the security anti-theft code for your VW radio from the car manufacturer, or from an VW dealer!

The sequence of programming for VW radio is:
1. Push simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys until on the screen will appear "1000" displayed.
2. Release keys. No more push on "SCAN" and "RDS" keys because otherwise number "1000" will be considered as first safe code attempt.
3. By the #1 key you will set up the first safe code digit.
4. By the #2 key you will set up the second safe code digit.
5. By the #3 key you will set up the third safe code digit.
6. By the #4 key you will set up the four-th safe code digit.
7. Then push again simultaneous "SCAN" and "RDS" keys for confirm this safe code. On the screen will be displayed "SAFE" notice. Release keys! For few seconds a radio frequence will be displayed. The radio is now ready for use!

Good day. I drive a 2007 City Golf, I recently took my car in for its service. When i received the car back the radio was saying SAFE?? What does this mean? I Bought the car at a second hand car dealer and...

the radio anti theft system is operated when, for any reason, the power is turned off/disconnected,(safe mode)in some markets, the dealers do not keep the factory code (0000) OR the code inputed by the owner...SO, if anybody turns the power off(disconnects)the radio DIES....and garages will then charge you to "repair" it.
the garage would have known this but i cant see them offering to pay for disconnecting your battery.....
the only alternative is a specialist radio shop who may be able to
short the code out..in england the company is "radioactive" and they charge £15.00 at your house.....

Re sitting the radio in my VW golf

The number buttons on the stereo change the code, so push the 1 button 3 times for 3, 2 button 1 time for 1, and so on. If your code was 2255, you'd hit the 1 button 2 times, the 2 button 2 times, the 3 button 5 times, and the 4 button 5 times. When the code is displayed on the screen, you press Mode and Scan at the same time AND HOLD THEM until the radio unlocks. It'll let you know if it's the right number.
