Question about Cars & Trucks
89 chevy k2500 tbi 350 auto 4x4. Truck is hard to start or wont start at all. Has high rpm miss/cut-out. Occasionally hesitates off idle. Will start up if you give it a shot of starting fluid first. Runs good once started. Has a slight miss when running. Have replaced fuel pump, sending unit, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, ignition coil, spark plugs and air filter. Should i replace the ignition control module next?

on a lot of ford products there is a switch that goes from the fuel pump to the inside of one of the bedsides.
what this is, is a shock switch that turns the fuel pump off if it absorbs a hit.
its a really dumb safety feature but its effective.
there is a red button on it that u have to press to make it active again.
sometimes they just trip for no reason.

try bypassing the oil pressure switch on the back of the block behind the distributor, if there oil pressure switch goes bad it will do this. had one that drove me nuts trying to fix it then figured out I had to buy a book and low and behold thee it was 3 wire oil pressure switch you can't see between the engine and fire wall just behind the distributor and costs 8 bucks to buy new.
