2004 jeep grand cherokee engine wont shut off

Repaired the wiring in the boot, the key at some point before I owned it was jerked out of the ignition, you can start the jeep and take out the key and now when the jeep is running you can turn the key to the off position and it continues to run and the only way to shut it off is by disconnecting the alternator.

SOURCE: How can I reset my Factory Alarm on my Jeep it wont run

Alarm Module Reset Procedure
NOTE: This information applies to a Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) that was armed when the battery was disconnected and reconnected.
When the armed VTSS senses that the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, it enters its power-up mode. In the power-up mode the alarm system remains armed following a battery failure or disconnect. If the VTSS was armed prior to a battery disconnect or failure, the system will have to be actively or passively disarmed following a battery reconnection.
The power-up mode will also apply if the battery goes dead while the system is armed and battery jump-starting is attempted. The engine no-run feature will prevent the engine from starting until the alarm system has been actively or passively disarmed.
Passive disarming of the Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) occurs when the vehicle is unlocked using the key to unlock either front door or the lift gate. Active disarming of the VTSS occurs when the vehicle is unlocked by depressing the Unlock button of the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter.
Once the alarm has been activated (horn sounding, lights flashing, and the engine no-run feature), either disarming method will deactivate the alarm.
Depressing the Panic button (if equipped) on the RKE transmitter will also disarm the VTSS, but the horn will sound and the lights will flash for about three minutes as part of the Panic feature. The horn and lights can be stopped by pressing any of the RKE transmitter's buttons or driving the vehicle above 15 mph.

1995 jeep grand cherokee laredo jerking at 50 mph

which engine? (asked now 1000 times, only 2 ever answered)

tune up time, spark parts, rotor to plugs. filters. both.

its called a 60k mile tune up solves most.

my guess, is its misfiring or

is this the ASD relay dropping out then back in, as driven.

jerked before and after CKP sensor, did you know its the last thing to fail......

see the list of ASD drops.

misfiring, can be felt, its like a misfiring chain saw, ever here a 2 stoke misfire, ratta, tata ,tat?

some call it jerking, its not, is misfiring. (3reasons ) and 25 causes.

but jerkin real, like if you cut the ignition that is and instant bog.

but if you off the key and back on , fast, that be a jerk

that is total power loss. not misfire. its loss spark and fuel.

and jerks hard.

so does loss of 12vdc to the EFI system.

so the first step is to see if its the ASD relay dropping out.

on all jeeps.. 93 to now.

ASD

http://www.fixkick.com/Jeeps/ASD.html

automatic, shut down. (relay and EFI logic)

key point, the ASD will kill the engine, if fit sees spark is bad.

so its a chicken and egg deal.

here is the logic.

key on , crank , ASD closes, fuel injects and engine starts

then dies in seconds. or runs full time.

note that if the ECU sees spark dead, it cuts spark.

Sounds odd , huh. but is NOT.

this relay stops all car fires. (caused by this protection not in place)

My door locks on the passenger side wont work, and my interior lights wont turn off, the windows also wont work. I have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee

you have a broken grond wire in the front pasanger door boot in the front door jam. very common on these and have to repair thwm all the time. you have to pull back the black boot and inspect all the wires and pull on the. sometime the break is up further and you can't see it because the boot don't pull back far enough. it most likely with be a black wire. good luck

Wont stop jerking

Check all lines fittings intake parting line at engine etc for vacuum leaks that can cause your problem. You can spray carb cleaner on suspect components and see if idle changes (not sensors) Listen carefully for any hissing noise while running.

Automatic door locks wont work on my 2004 jeep grand cherokee

There is a broken wire in the rubber casing between the door and the vehicle. Take the rubber casing off and you will more than likely find a broken wire or one about to break. Been there and done that.
