I have a 2004 Jaguar Vanden Plas which is already equipped with the cell phone wiring and cradle inside the center armrest. The problem is the phone itself is missing and I'd like to find the correct unit that works with my car and fits the cradle. I checked with dealer but they want to charge $1500 to install an entirely new set up. I'd be willing to use my current bluetooth enable cell phone if this would make things easier. Any help or suggestions????
Before 2005 the Blutooth Units in the Jaguars were Analog. Analog phones are no longer available, everything is digital. The only option according to Jaguar USA is to pay $2000.00 for a digital unit. Then any bluetooth enabled phone will work.(Jaguar stated that since the government made the switch, they will not do upgrades at Jaguars expense)
I have a 2004 xjr with the telephone armrest cradle. The problem is even though i have the factory phone it's not E911 compliant. As a result when it was accidently deactivated it can no longer have service. Be on the lookout for another phone that will fit. Good luck ---- I read on a blog that the CRAVE will work by verizon but have not looked into it yet.
