Old owner chopped blower motor wiring - need pinout for resistor

97 jeep grand cherokee limited

The previous owner chopped the blower motor resistor wiring and completely removed the resistor from the system. The person had done it because the old resistor melted and also melted some of the wiring harness. I have no idea what the pinout should be for the resistor. This vehicle has the ATC (automatic temperature control) resistor, not the one in the manual control ones.

Thanks!

It might be beneficial to you to go to a scrapyard and take a look at one that hasn't been chopped up! You may even want to buy whatever has been removed while you are there!

I need a wiring diagram for the blower motor on a 1999 jeep grand cherokee limited. I have two wires sticking out of the blower motor and I don't know where they go

Usually you have to splice the wires into the old plug.
You might be able to find a diagram on the websites for auto parts stores such as autozone.

Blower works intermittently. The cooling is fine...just no push at times for cool air. Blower motor appears to be fine also. Is there a sensor or other that needs replaced? 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee...

Check where the wires go into the blower housing. There is usually what appears to be a small plate held by 1 or 2 screws that the wires plug into. This is the speed control resistor. If it's going bad, it will cause the problem you describe.

I replaced the resistor box and 2 green and one blue wire. all i got was a spark no blower and a blown 40 amp fuse help 2000 jeep grand cherokee limited

Either something was mis-wired, or you have a shorted blower motor or a cut in the wire insulation that is shorting to ground. I'm amazed that a 40 Amp fuse is used for the blower motor - that is a lot of current for a motor that size. (13.6 Volts times 40 Amps is 544 Watts for a fan?! There must be some other stuff on that circuit or somebody put in an oversized fuse.)

Ac blower won't work. Resistor has been replaced 3 times. I think it is the problem now. Is it easy to replace? Where is it?

Blower motor resistors are found on the pasenger side ducts near the blower motor. It should have three wires going to it.

2001 Grand Cherokee Limited a/c Blower Motor not working

Try wiggling the connector on your Blower Motor Resistor. They are known for having a bad connection and melting the connector. Check on Ebay, I bought a new harness kit on there. It was easy to install, just cut off the old connector and splice in the new. The colors match so there is no guessing which wire goes where. Only cost me $12 and saved me $300+ that the dealer wanted.
