Let the car stand and go cold!! ONLY THEN drive it home!!! If the radiator was cold it sounds like the thermostat is not working correctly. Replace it as they are usually not that expensive. It is a job you could do yourself. (Comment if you would like more help).
Eco Drive is the automatic stop/start system that some refer to a a mini-hybrid.
I know little about them but I believe the facility can be switched off and therefore can be switched on. I don't know how but the answer might be found in the vehicle handbook or at your local Peugeot dealer.
It will certainly be safe to drive - the facility automatically stops working if the battery charge level drops below a certain value. Whenever the battery is disconnected/removed/replaced the on-board computer must be reset with dedicated diagnostic equipment for the system to work correctly, I hear.
Check that engine oil is atleast a grade of 10W40. If temperature is below 0°C then Standard engine oil mostly a cause of bad circulation.
To find out if its because of engine oil, drive the car (find out an empty motorway) 60MPH for at least 15-20 minute; come back home; turn the engine off: wait 2 minutes and then start again. if still there is check engine light, then the problem is something else.
Turn the ignition on. Whats the status of service miles? If service miles are reached zero then the diagnostic light comes up to remind you to bring your car to service station. If needed check my other posts to find out the procedure to set off the service /diagnostic light.
Check that the motor oil and oil filter are changed at regular intervals.
For 206 1.4 sports ecu can be scanned by many garages, costs around 45 quids.
if it help, having the abs light on in your vehicle just means that the abs system has a fault. normaly the abs sensor on one of the wheels are abd in 85% of all vehicles. if you are worried about driving the car, no worries, it is still safe to drive and you will NOT lose your brakes. your brakes are manual and the abs is electrical. i would say take your car to a dealership and have them rub a diagnostic test on your abs. they will be able to help you more then a regular garage will. most dont have the ability to check abs systems
the car is a peugeot 206 2001 model
