What parts do i need for my 2005 ford focus front door handle that wont open. handle still in place but the inside of the door panel there is something broken

the plastic clip that holds the door release rod on the latch is either broken, or fallen off, to fix this you need to remove the inner door panel, there will be screws along the door handle puller, and inside the little door cup, also on the inner door handle there's one, if you have mechanical windows there's a clip that holds that handle on, remove it with a small flat head screw driver, ( watch out they tend to fly off ) once the screw is off the door handle, pop it out towards you, and remove the rod and clip attached to it, once all the screws are removed,, take a putty knife, along the bottom of the panel and pop out the clips that hold this in place slide the panel up to get it off the window rail at the top of the panel,, now once inside your going to see a sheet of plastic, peel it back , look inside the holes in the door for a rod thats come off ,, once you locate the outer door handle,, you will see where the clip and rod go on one end or the other,,

This link is from the handle to the latch. The door panel has to be removed in order for this problem to be fixed. The linkage is inside the door panel, it is a small diamater metal rod called a link. If you do the job yourself be careful not to break the door panel. In a shop, the labor is 1 hour for the job & if any, parts will be a seperate charge.
