how do i fit a new headlight bulb on 1995 jeep che - 2_27_2013_8_57_15_pm.jpg

HEADLAMP BULB REMOVAL
(1) Lift hood to access lamps.
(2) Reach into engine compartment and locate lock ring supporting the headlamp bulb assembly.
(3) Rotate the lock ring 1/8 turn counterclockwise (Fig. 5).
(4) Pull the bulb (9004) straight out from the housing. This is a halogen bulb, take care not to touch it with your fingers.
(5) Replace by seating the assembly in the lamp housing and turning the lock ring 1/8 turn clockwise to secure.

Hope this helps.

One long bolt at the top - requires a 7mm socket to remove the bolt. The light housing will pry out with a screw driver. There are three ball and socket type connectors that hold the housing in and I just pryed off the plastic housing carefully and "balls" pop out of the sockets. Finally, I was replacing the faded plastic housing and it came with a new wiring harness. It's impossible to reach the connector to use the new wiring harness that comes with the new plastic light housing. So just use the existing wiring harness with the new light assembly.

Sounds like you have a bad ground at the tail light unit.
ie:when you put the brakes on(when lights off) it is getting the ground through the tail and head light filaments, and conversly as you switch the lights on you will be feeding 12v+ backfeed to the tail light unit, and therefore effectively switching both tail and brake lights off.

Hope this helps, and get back to me if you require further assistance

My 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee running lights do not work

Don't know if this will help but its how i fixed my 2001. Go to: http://www.2carpros.com/forum/2001-jeep-grand-cherokee-laredo-brake-lights-not-working-vt4814.html Tip: If you have a small piece of medal to put under the ground contact point then it will keep it raised in place, i used a really big staple from a staple gun to slide under mine I also replaced all the sockets that the bulbs go into cause mine were falling apart and may have been a part of the problem.

Replace headlight bulb on driver's side

Pop the hood and you will notice that behind the light covering there is a connector that screws into the back of the light cover. Unscrew it and the bulb can be removed and replaced with a new one. Be sure to not touch the new bulb with your bare hands as this will cause the bulb to burn out quicker (its a chemical reaction of some kind). Hope this helps, let me know how it goes. Good luck!
