I think you are referring to the coolant temperature sensor?
If so, it will be located on the bottom tank of your radiator.
They may have two, some only one wire and used the chassis for ground.
If the engine is cold and the system is tight, that sensor can be removed and replaced with only moderate coolant loss if you work quickly.
Put a basin or pan under the sensor area to catch any losses since coolant is sweet and animals will drink it if it is available; it can be toxic to them.
this is what your check engine light was telling you. code 12 battery input was disconnected within the last 50 key-on cycles. code 54 no camshaft signal detected during engine cranking. code 55 completion of fault code display on check engine lite. hope this will help you!! note: camshaft sensor is located in distributor on 3.0liter engine and on a 3.3liter and 3.8 liter engines its located next to the thermostat housing.
