2003 Saturn Vue (5 speed FWD) makes a puttering noise when I accelerate. Could it be just sticky vavles?

run fault codes and check for MAF sensor or accelerator position sensor problem.

go to a website for a junkyard or auto recycler, or call one on the phone. they have interchange numbers to tell you what will fit in there.

it could be something more simple than that. Try replacing the speed module 1 and see if that doesn't fix the problem.

thats AWD, is your vehicle normally front wheel drive, theres no easy way for the transfer case to jump into AWD, mine does it to although mines a Expedition an its the front that kicks in.....The only thing you can do is keep a eye on fluid inside axle....

i am a saturn tech and ive never heard of this concern,the columns do go bad but they just set a ses light and cut out power,the column could be bad,it could also be the intermediate shaft u joint binding,,,i rec take to dealer, could be serious

we have a 2003 saturn vue which we installed new tires on and we noticed a noise about 6 months afterwards. it sounded to my wife and i to be loud road noise from the tires. the car was driven for 6 months and we decided the noise was annoing. had the tires checked only to find it was the left front wheel bearing which was replaced and stopped the noise.
