I have a 2004 ES330 Lexus and the alarm is always going off. I brought it to the Lexus dealer and they told me the problem is one of two (2) things: Hood Switch or rear door actuators. I had the Hood switch replaced at the dealership and had the rear door actuators replaced at the dealership in which I purchased the car from. The alarm stop going off for about two days and it was back to the same thing. I went back to the Lexus dealer and now they are telling me that I need to pay an additional $405 for another diagnostic fee. They have clean the door actuators and have even replaced the driver side actuators and it is still a problem. The car was checked for the possibility of having an after market alarm on it. No one found. They also checked to see if there were any signs of an accident done to the vehicle. They wasn't any. If anyone knows what may be the problem with this car, or have experienced any particular issues as such, I would welcome any suggestions or feedback.

I had the problem with key not going into the ignition on 2005.5 Jetta had to have the car towed and ignition replaced which cost 375$. But what i read afterwards is there is a locking mechanism in the ignition it is a white thing that slides so you cant get your key in this can be moved with a a small aharp object ant you can then get your key in!!!

Pull the code(s) at the moment the Check Engine light is flashing. Purchase an OBDII scanner (Auto Zone, Car Quest, O'Riely's, etc.) Be ready when it happens... do not shut off the engine ... plug the OBDII scanned into the DLC (Data Link Connector) and retrieve the code(s) at the moment it happens. If you still don't retrieve any codes when this happens, you have a malfunctioning ECM (Engine Control Module). Before you replace it (if this actually happens - no codes and Check Engine light is flashing), Disconnect both battery cables and touch them together for 30 seconds. Reconnect them to the battery and drive vehicle to see if it happens again (could be junk/corruption in ECM memory banks). If it happens again, the ECM is malfunctioning. REASONING: Whenever the "Check Engine" light comes on, there is ALWAYS a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) stored in the ECM (Engine Control Module). If no codes are retrieved, there's only one cause - ECM MALFUNCTION!

could be a loose connector in the power bezel. pop it off and check the connectors.
