My 01 vw beetle. sometimes the blinkers don't work. the heater fan will not work at all. i understand the heater controll is routed through the ignition switch in some. way. that's retarted if so. what is the solution? a new ignition switch? or is it another part connected to the ignition switch?

SOURCE: How to Check fan control module 2001 vw beetle?

Sounds like your fan speed switch. I had the same problem. The fan speed switch is the main power switch to your AC. VW only sells the whole cluster wholesale around 150.00. Let me know if you need instruction on removing cluster.

One difference here. One the NON-CONVERTABLE new Beetle, the hazard button is the flasher... on the convertable, there is a separate sealed relay box under the dash to keep from having the switch short out of you leave the top up.

My 1999 vw beetle won't start in snow

Old new beetle VW harness has contact resistance problems(vibration of wires) and needs to be recrimped the long wires(vibration can be stopped by silicone rubber anchoring). Cold weather make battery voltages low and needs recharged with handbrake on(headlamps off) 10 minutes warming engine up the whole winter.

When I turn my lights on my tail lights work but when I hit my brakes the don't light up I have a 2001 vw beetle????

the brake lights don't light up or the taillights don't light up? the brake lights are brighter than the tailights so the tailights won't show up whenbrakes are applied. if no lights work when brakes are applied then check for a bad ground at the light assembly.

1998 VW Beetle Notice cooling fans are not coming on. Air still works but car quickly them over heats. Also over heats when stuck in traffic. I have been turning on the heater when stuck in traffic and the...

Did you check the coolant level? if your low on coolant the sensor for the fans won't work, also could be a bad fan motor or just a fuse, if you continue to over heat the car you can do a lot of damage to the engine, blown head gasket, and the VW's are expensive to repair, take it to a good shop and have them check it out.

Is there a heater illum bulb in a 2001 VW Beatle

Set the fan speed switch to position #2. Grab the fan speed knob and pull it straight off. It might fight you a bit, but it will come off. Once you have the knob off, lookinside the control unit and you will see the bulb. I have seen these just fall out of the socket on their own.
