need real good advice, as I am really tired of our local Mech.....
1- I was told that I should get my TRANSMISSION Oil changed. ........................ ''BIG MISTAKE, I THINK''
I had no problems before with shifting of any sort or any noise.....
2- USED CALTEX ATF..... now every morning I hear a odd ticking noise till the engine or Jeep temp. goes up to normal ''mid''
3- sometimes The RMP goes UP real high before 1st & 2nd gear changes. then its fine rest of time..
**** CHANGED OIL AGAIN ,LAST WEEK *****
used CALTEX ATF AGAIN, STill SAME PROBLEMS.
now it feels as the JEEP RUNNING HEAVY TOO.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TODAY A MECH. told me that I SHOULD only use TOYOTA ATF... that will solve the problem as CALTEX is nto good
oil for TOYOTA PRADO or ANY JEEP.
Hi
I had problem with engine noise every morning until heating up. Something like rotating wrong! Many mechs told many wrong advice. End of day I found my engine oil filter is blocked and oil pump pushing hard so was making noise. Unfortunately I figure it out when my engine warning light on!!! Then I washed engine and changed filter as well as oil. It solved noise problem but still I am not sure my engine is ok, because I run over 200 km with this sound (it means engine worked while low oil supply)
You are suppose to use T-IV ATF in toyotas or they will not shift correctly.
