Has the battery been disconnected? If so, I have heard of this problem. The on board computer speaks to the car constantly and after 10 days of non charging the battery is flat! The only solution is a visit to your nearest Jag garage to get it all re-programmed, this solution would also include Battery disconnection. Check with a Jag garage first, it's free to ask, but this sounds like your problem. A major design flaw if you ask me.

Why wont car start

First put the battery on to a proper battery charger over night. If it clicks after that, the solenoid or starter is faulty.

Wont start after it gets warm

This is an interesting fault. The click you hear is the relay, that puts power on the starter motor, but you do not hear the starter motor turn. (Or do you?)
First suspect is the battery, they do get old and tired, but you say after a while it cools down and starts, so its probably not the battery. Check the cables to and from the starter motor, and the fat earth cable from the engine to the body (in the engine bay) make sure they are undamaged, clean and the connections are not loose. IF all looks ok I suspect the starter motor. remove the starter motor and clean it.

2004 alero turn key car clicks but wont start

Dead battery. Try jump starting it. Then stop by any good parts store (Advance, Autozone, etc) and have them to a FREE charging system test and a FREE battery load test. I suspect your battery has left this planet...

Help my mercedse says display faulty visit workshop. it wont start. i just had a full sevice performed and was told it can drive far distances. the lights, radio etc work just zero response from engine

Have you checked your fuses? Check your owners manual for location of your fuse boxes. Normally under rear seat and under hood in mercedes. Check the reference card in the fuse box for any fuses corresponding to the engine,I.E. engine, Fuel pump, etc. Check those fuses to see if any are blown. If the fuses are all good then it is probably the ecm (electronic control module).

2001 ford focus: only 1 headlight works on low beam, already replaced socket, also engine wont crank, new battery all fuses are good. also fuel pump not working! My brother was playing around in the fuse...

start by getting the car to run...If you played with the fuses and battery, this is where to start. Clean the battery terminals and tighten them after cleaning...test the fuses-the tester is about ten bucks at most autoparts stores...If after that no start, then you will need to break out a multimeter and find the short circuit.

sounds like water ingress to either a control module or the coil pack, check all control box locations eg footwells for water and then check the engine bay for loose or naked wires, dry and clean and possibly cover with a plastic bag etc and it should be fine.
