'99 Cougar Will not start

I completed an engine swap today in my '99 cougar with a '96 duratech engine. I kept the orginal injectors, sensors, and all electronics. after the finial connections, the engine will turn over but not start. while turning the engine over and spraying with starting fluid the engine will start and run on starting fluid only. The serpintine belt is not connected yet. Any help would be great!!!

Check the fuel pump relay and try to hear if you can hear anything coming from the fuel pump and also check the fuse for the sending unit.

Jumbing when accelarete maybe fuel injectors?

Check fuel injectors with a noid light for electrical pulsing issues, and by listening with a stethoscope on each injector to listen for a telltale click (indicating it's working when engine running at idle).

99 cougar 2.5 v6..starting problems

take your car to autozone. It might be your alternator. It is better if you take off the alternator to have it tested, just incase it is a parasitic leak. This happened to my navigator 2 days ago. It was wierd because it ran fine when it was warm outside. But kept killing by battery when it was cold!

99 Cougar Acceleration

It could be the MAF (mass air flow) sensor. Once the engine warms up it starts to use all of the sensors to operate the engine. Try unplugging the sensor to see if that restores some of your lost power.
