Everything was fine yesterday but today it just wouldn't start. Petrol in tank and plenty of power (tried a jump from three different vehicles), starter not turning over at all. Called breakdown out and they tried a direct power feed to the starter but while it turned over it still didn't start. Doesn't sound like the fuel pump is running when starting up but can't find why? Any ideas? Please!
Can you hear it the petrol pump you might need to remove the fuel inlet pipe to see if there is any fuel getting to the engine or the return fuel pipe there should be fuel either way if there is fuel remove 1 plug keep the leed atached and use some insulating plyers to keep a hold of it place the electrode on a bit of the engine to see if you have spark as long asvyou have these 2 things it should start

You would need to get a repair manual for a schematic to know where the starter motor is located. In truth, replacement is not very complicated--you simply unbolt the old unit and bolt in a new replacement unit. But, you may have to disassemble other components to reach the starter motor. It is likely more costly to have your starter motor repaired. I suggest getting a new one or refurbished. Some places will have a "core charge", whereby you get that money refunded when you send them your old starter. In the end, it is cheaper and easier than getting your starter motor fixed. Good luck.

Well the first thing i would do is scan the computer for codes, but without a scan reader you cant. see if it has fuel preasure, start there.

Have you checked to see if your injectors are firing and have you checked your fuel pressure?

All fuses checked and the breakdown guy plugged in a computer but couldn't find anything in the codes etc. I'm not sure if he tested the fuel pressure but will try that. The starter turned fine with a direct power feed so would that mean it is ok?
Battery checks out fine too and going to check the plugs etc tomorrow for the spark.
Hi there. Got this sorted - it was the key. I tried the spare and everything worked fine. A bit weird as the remote locking still worked. Anyway all sorted and thanks for the help offered.
How do I mark this as solved?
