2004 Dodge Caravan
The remote keylock used to flash van's lights but stopped.
Then a few weeks later, the radio stopped turning on.
This may have occured shortly after I put a phone into the cigarette lighter for charging.
A week later, I put the device again into the cigarette lighter, and the radio started working again. But only for a day.
Then the radio went out permanently.
Fuses all appear good. I took out the IOD fuse for 10 seconds as well, and took out the BCM fuse as well. Nothing seems to correct the issue. Everything else seems to be functioning.
Is this possibly a short or grounding problem?
Sometime the computer in car will shut down a circuit when it sees a problem even if it only occure once. You can try to disconnect the battery for at least 2 min so all sys power off (some have capacitors that mantaine a charge for short time). If a battery disconnect does not clear problem you have go to dealer and have them to clear codes and reset you modules and your preferences

Thanks for your suggestion.
I removed the battery and it was out of the vehicle for over an hour. It didn't correct the problem. I haven't gone to the dealer yet, but wonder if any other expert would recommend resetting the codes? A guy at work thought maybe I have a grounding problem just hearing the story.
So, I either take it to a car electical company to see if it's a grounding problem or go to a dealer? What's your recommendation?
