Gas gauge - Doodge Caravan 2000

Fuel gauge is inaccurate. Just keep filling tank till it takes no more. And knowing the gas mileage you get on the car and fuel tank capacity, set the odometer and when you calculate that you are getting close to the bottom, get some gas.

Gas as in gasoline or gas as in LPG gas? If its petrol, the fuel sender may be out of adjustment. (Usually means a new sender) If its LPG, the fuel stations are set to automatically shut off at 80% full. The gas tank will never actually be full to the brim but the gauge should be showing full if the gas nozzle keeps shutting off. Have a look on the LPG tank itself, they have a little gauge on them which shows how full it is. I have 2 tanks on my car , when "full" or when the pump shuts down, the tank gauges show just under full but the gauge on the cars dash shows full (2005 BA Ford)

The sending unit in gas tank is broken - hence the wrong readings of how much gas is in the tank. Replace unit.

yeah sound like your fuel injectors are clogged...I would first change and the fuel filters and go to wal mart and buy "sea foam" fuel injector cleaner its in a white and red metal can this stuff is awesome!...and add it too a full tank of gas run the vehicle till the gas tank is empty..if this doesn't fix it you will need to flush out the entire fuel system and flush out the fuel tank

You probably have a bad sending unit for the fuel level in the tank. this would cause the gauge to be erratic when the level is below 1/2 tank and the float is moving around much more than when full. The oil pressure gauge problem could be caused buy a loose wire connection or a faulty sending unit.

2000 Olds Silhouette: plenty of gas in the tank but the gage will read full, 3/4 full, 1/2 full, and everywhere in between. Van runs fine. No other issues except the gage goes crazy and can't depend on what it says. ...

Seems like the float level unit in the gas tank is damaged, and not traveling all the way down when fuel is consumed. It is an inexpensive part, $25-50 , but quite a hassle to install.

HI, the fuel gauge sending unit is malfunctioning. this is located inside the fuel tank and, it is part of the fuel pump assembly. replacing this failing component will fix this issue.

Depending on the severity of the problem, Sea Foam fuel additive can fix this (or at least lessen the crazy jumping around). It's available at NAPA. It worked on my Jimmy. However, in my case gauge started jumping around with less than 1/4 tank (worked fine when full).

check the grounds on your fuel tank sending unit,must drop the tank to do this. with the tank down,remove the ground and look at your fuel gauge it should read full or empty,if it does not it may be a sending unit
