- P0171: This means that the oxygen sensor has detected a lean air-fuel ratio. This can be caused due to a vaccuum leak or a problem in the HO2S circuit or the HO2S (Heated Oxygen Sensor) itself. (Bank one Sensor one). This is commonly located along the exhaust pipe. It could also be a bad Mass Air Flow sensor or a bad Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. Diagnostic checks will be needed to be carried out to be verified though
- Well as for the other codes, it means #3&4 cylinders are misfiring. It is a possibility that the P0171 code mite have caused the others to show up. I can be wrong though. But it is a strong possibility. If the air fuel mixtue is too lean indeed, mis-firing will occur, unless it is an actual electronic and not a mechnical problem. By the way, when these codes appear, how is the engine's performance. Does it remain the same or behaves poorly?
I was unable to find a vaccum leak The car runs fine but will not pass the inspection test
Used strater fluid around intake
Diagnostic showed that Oxygen Sensor bank 1 may be bad I unplug it with the engine running it did not chang the way it ran is this a bad sensor I did find a vaccum leak on the intake it is missing a hose or a plug
replaced the intake gasket checked for leak found no leaks but the check engine light is on
This was not a vacuum leak or a sensor or electronic problem
The gas pressure was to low 20pis needed to be 35pis adjusted electronic fuel pump all codes gone and passed inspection
adjusted fuel pump pressure? doubt that. someone is pulling our leg here.
I don't believe it runs fine or it would not have the misfire codes and O2 code's, how did u check the intake? did u use propane enrichment?
check the intake gasket for vacuum leaks.
