My 2003 Chrysler Sebring Convertible has an annoying squeaking sound to it and I would like to know how to stop the noise. It happens when it's running, and when accelerating the noise gets faster and louder. Spraying the main drive belt with silicone spray, and tightening the belt itself are two techniques that only seem to quiet the squeaking temporarily. The noise seems to come back within a day or so. Any ideas on how to completely fix this problem for good?

SOURCE: Continuous Chirping Noise In and around my serpentine belt.

You have a bad pully bearing. Shows up more on higher loads (accelerating the engine speed). Could be the tensioner pully (ususally the 1st place to look) but it could be any of the pully driven components (ps pump, alternator, a/c compressor etc). Hopefully it's just a tensioner (they're cheapest)

SOURCE: i am experiencing a squeaking noise from infront

i have a similar problem. a squeaking noise, sounds when i start the engine, and when i stop the engine. at times it comes when the engine is running and idle, and it lasts some time like a high pitched whistle. Ive had several mechanics look at it, and it seem to be one of the smaller pulleys that the belts run around. in the 2002 model (petrol) of the crv the belts are not the cam belts, becuase this model has a cam chain (much more robust!). so they all said its nothing to worry about. you can try having your pulley replaced.

1998 Chrysler Sebring front end squeak

It could be a powersteering leak. Sometimes there is a shaft seal under the steering column inside that needs to be greased because f squeaks. The brake problem is from warped rotors, most likely the front since you feel it in the steering wheel.

1996 chrysler sebring convertible horn, lighter, and cruise stopped working

Wow!
Sorry to hear this one. You'll wan't someone ASE certified in Automotive Electronics for sure. Sounds to me like the ECM or engine control module may have burnt out. If it smelled like electrical smoke, don't drive it! I'd suggest an AAMCO, as they do have techs now hat can do these things, wish I could say "Easy Fix" but I can't see the car.. :)

no
the ECM ( engine control module) is responsible for the engine operation
you have several control modules all connected by a canbus unit which allows each one to communicate
could possibly be a bad ground , or harness connection

My 2008 Chrysler Sebring Limited convertible has a problem with the trunk latch. It won't stay closed. It keeps unlatching. Do you know what the problem is? How do I get it to stop unlatching?

I did this to my car once. Be sure the latch isn't closed as you are trying to close the trunk. With the trunk open pop the trunk once, then see if the trunk latches properly.

Have your charging system checked. I had a similar problem with a chrysler van - the lights would brighten and then dim periodically. it turned out to be the battery.
