My focus hasnt always been great on fuel but recently its guzzling it big time... my engine management light is always on and my heaters or blowers dont work at all... any ideas... thanks in advance for any help....xx
HI,
heat because you engine lighting system on always replace your bulb this is the solution.
You need to have the check engine light repaired first most likely related to heat and or gas issue and a check engine light is not a 1 issue thing code will need to be pulled if you have a autozone they can pull it for free and theres where we need to start .could be anything from o2 sensor to a thermostat ect...

It turned out that the bulbs in the headlights had gone simultaneously. Luckily my son is knowledgeable about cars. He came over and figured out the problem. I had to purchase new bulbs, then my son had to practically dismantle the front of the car to change the bulbs. It was a complicated operation just to replace bulbs, and something I would not have been able to tackle myself. If it had not been for my son. I would have had to spend a fortune at a garage for a mechanic to replace the bulbs for me. What should have been a relatively simple task has become a mammoth operation. In years gone by it would have been a simple task that I could have performed myself. Why do manufacturers design cars so that it is so complicated just to replace the bulbs. There are so many things that have developed faults on this Ford Focus, I will never have another one.

Your fan motor is getting old and what happens is the thermal fuse in the speed control resistor pack goes open because there is no cooling air going past it because the motor is not turning. If you undo the three screws under the glove box the box comes out. remove the insulation pad below the glove box, rip it out. you can see the motor there. to the left of the motor is a module screwed into the duct with a multi wire connector on it. That is the speed control resistor pack. Remove the small duct held on by one screw and remove the module and you can then see the thermal fuse on top. Electronic supply store should have a close thermal fuse. Remove the motor by undoing three screws from underneath the motor housing. A short phillips screw drive is a bonus. The motor is held to the housing by rubber tabs that you can push on to remove the motor from the housing. Some creative lubrication can some times revive the motor. Good luck
