SOURCE: 2000 Audi A4 Quattro Passenger Side Power Window...

Ok you have either one of two main problems with it.
1. does it go in one direction only then jams the other way?
Ans. the plastic clips that hold the window to the lifting rail can break.
these can be replaced by removing the door trim & replacing though you will need torx type tools.
2. As with vw golfs & passets the motors pack up or even the wire can break on some of them.
Ans. replace the motor unit in the door or the cable & rail.

3. It is heardly heard tell of but the only other problem is that one of the wires in the hinge area to the door has broken.

4. we have had this one a few times but this would also include the interior lights & central locking not working as well as the windows.
The central convenience unit under the passenger foot well can go wonky & needs to be replaced, usually caused by water coming in through the heaters air filter when the water is trapped in the front of the car ( caused by rotten leaves stuck in the drain points & also happens to the A6 models )

SOURCE: ThenI start my engine it sounds like diesel and no power

how is the oil level and pressure?, how many miles on engine? is this a loud knock or rather a clatter/ticking noise? knock is engine rod or crankshaft bearings, clatter loud ticking is valve follower noise. how long before it (the noise) goes away?

SOURCE: petrol instead of diesel

Hi

This is not quite recommended, and to do a 100% job, you should really drain the tank, and refill with just diesel, and renew the fuel filter.

But if it is running acceptably, drive it gently, and keep refilling with diesel.

Good Luck !

SOURCE: 1999 landrover range rover 2.5 diesel put petrol

I would start by looking for the valve on the fuel rail (or at the filter housing), if you disconnected the fuel pipe from the filter feed you will have a lot of air in the system (and diesels do not like air in the feul system) you will need to have someone crank the motor over while you push in on the schrader valve to release the air out of the system until you get fuel to flow steady out of that port (this may take a short period of time), then you should be able to start the vehicle... would also recommend replacing the fuel filter as well. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: mistakinly put 50 litres diesel in my almost empty petrol tank

The first thing i'd tell you is to not run the engine at all before fixing this if possible. Diesel fuel doesn't burn very good in a gasoline engine, if at all... There is not enough compression in a gas engine to get the diesel hot enough to burn, even with a spark plug.

There is a few ways to go about this but the easiest one is to find and disconnect the line coming from the gas tank to the engine, as close to the fuel pump as possible (preferably before the filter) and route it to an empty container, then jump 12V to the fuel pump motor terminals, or jump the fuel pump relay terminals (to get the pump running) and let it pump the diesel fuel out in the container...

As a precaution I'd change the fuel filter after this, fill the tank back up with clean gasoline, and give the car a good run... You can expect the engine to smoke and run bad for a little while, as there will still be a little diesel going through.

As for the cost to get it done, I really couldn't give you a straight answer... They could do it like I said or another way (drop the gas tank...) It's not that hard to do if you do it yourself or find someone you know who can do it or a good "backyard" mechanic, but I'm sure some of the shops out there could write up a nice repair bill for this...

I have an Audi A4 1995 automatic and is not starting, fuel half tank, battery new,its just cut off the engine when l stopped by the robbot please help?

Fuel in the tank doesn't mean fuel in the engine. Have the fuel pressure tested, maybe the fuel pump in the gas tank failed, the age of the car would make it a prime target for failure.

I have put 8 litres of diesel in my 2005 renault scenic i have topped it up with 25 litres of petrol and run it for about 20 miles so far will this be ok once the the tank is empty

The 8 liters of diesel mixed with the 25 liters will make the vehicle smoke a little but if you continue to dilute the diesel/petrol mixture with petrol as your tank level goes down you should have minimal problems. When the tank gets to half you should refill it with petrol for at least two times. The main two problems I could think of that would cause you any concern would be the fuel filter getting partially plugged and the injectors gumming up. By continuing to dilute the tank with petrol you should be okay because the filter and injectors will clean themselves up while you drive. Just make sure you do not take any short drives. Let the engine warm up to operating temperature until you have ran at least two complete tanks of petrol through it.
