Hi I have a 2001 audi a6 2.7t...and everytime I give it gas the ABS LIGHT AND THE ESP LIGHT TURN ON !...And it also makes a psshhhh sound while I give it gas...which is really weird..Im on a tight budget,And dont want to make the wrong changes on the vehicle...Im hopeing this has nothing todo with a torque converter...cuz thats what My friend said...any ideas ...please and thank you.

I had the brake light switch replaced by a local dealer. Cost was $140 and it fixed the problem. Have driven the car for two weeks since and no lights and all systems normal.

It's probably your brake check switch going bad, it's under the driver's side dash above the brake pedal. I had the same problem and eventually my cruise control and brake lights stopped working when it failed completely. This is also a redesigned part that you can get from the dealer for about $8, which to me indicates they new the part caused problems and failed to notify owners. Try that before Audit tries telling you wires are faulty.

I had the same issue with my '05 A4 1.8T. Turns out it was the RPM sensor. Audi tried to tell me it was teh fuel pump and the cam-shaft positioning sensor. Paid for teh fuel pump replacement and it died 6 blocks from the dealership. Then they replaced the RPM snesor, works great now... Except it's still an Audi.
