Door sensor won't turn off on my 2000 Dodge Stratus

You replaced lift gate ,with a used one ? Did you replace door ajar switch with new one ? An what's this ovedrive ? Do you mean overdrive light ? If so the door ajar has nothing to do with that . When that light comes on you have a transmission problem .

check for a door switch that the wire is touching the metal door frame and leaving the light on regardless of whether the door is open or shut.

Driver side dome light will not go on when open the door All other... This has the schematics you need for the door and wiring diagram.

Usually its a sensor in one of the doors. The sensors are in each door latch.

The switch is inside the door latch mechanism, you will have to replace it.

I hear removing the relay for the door ajar will remendy this problem. So many people have replaced this relay and get no better results from it. My Ranger has the same problem ever since it was 9 months old. I tried two new relays and the problem comes back within months. That is why I just totally done away with mine. I rigged up a hot wire to my dome light so I can use it while I am in the truck. I know where the seat is in the dark so I don't need a dome light when I open my door.

Body control module controls this,replace it,and the lights will turn off on there own again.

the dimmer switch may be going bad--at night do you may see a change in the dash lighting as well --maybe even going off all together---sometimes adjusting the dimmer switch may give a temporary fix -the switch controls dash and dome lights and is a part that does wear with use

There is a magnet type sensor in the door jamb and door that come together when you close the doors.You have to replace the magnet switch in the door that it is bad in. these newer model Fords are notorious for those particular switches going bad
