I can be driving down the road and all of a sudden my gauges will go crazy well not just my gauges it is the entire instrument cluster. the best way i can describe it is it acts just like it does when you turn on the switch and start the vehicle the speed gauge will go to 120, fuel gauge goes to full(i think if not it goes to E),

Do you know anything about electronic's ? Automotive electronic's take more of a beating , hitting bump's , pot holes ,curbs etc. Enough to jar even the best built electronic componets . Chrysler products have had solder joint's crack , causing intermittent connection problems , could be loose fitting electrical connection's etc.... There is a microprocessor with logic programmed into it , inside the instrument cluster , the gauges ,warning light's are all controlled by modules . The gauges get their info from the PCM/ECM - engine computer over what is called a serial data network , are you familiar with these . The PCI data bus is what it is called . NO Communication issues on 2003 Dodge 1500 trucks is best fixed using...

Probably the best thing to do would be to have the whole vehicle scanned for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's . Not at a part's store , they can not read codes in the instrument cluster , BCM - body control module etc.

You could probably check power an ground connections for the IPC , Looking at a wiring diagram so you know which wire's to check . Free wiring diagrams here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Enter vehicle info. year, make ,model an engine size . Under system click on body & accessories ,then under subsystem click instrumentation .Click search button ,then the blue link. To find ground location's on the vehicle you real need some kind of factory service info. or repair manual .

SOURCE: 98 dodge caravan problems

I had the same issue with my dodge caravan and after several attempts by the dealer to fix it, it turned out to be a broken wire. They replaced the relay and it would work for a while and then go blank again. Have the wires checked thoroughly.

SOURCE: fuel gauge on 1993 Dodge Dakota V8

Definitely the gauge can be changed, provided the float in the fuel tank is OK, i.e. no leaks. This float connects to a potentiometer which records the current flowing thru it and displays it in the gauge. So before replacing the gauge measure the current and match that against the quantity of fuel in the tank...............sodeep

SOURCE: Truck stalls while driving down the road.....

SORRY but you have a very typical dodge problem.dodges are VERY well known for these little and big wiring problems.you can find an electrical expert thats highly recomended or the dealer.if you don't fix it well,my grandads had some small problems fuel hand radio insturment panel would all stop working some times and some times work fine, then one day it burned the whole harness inside truck and under hood then it really cost a pretty penny.hope you get her fixed..

SOURCE: 1999 dodge caravan intermittent instrument cluster

This Seems Indicative Of a Poor Connection AT The CLUSTER Or A Junction Connecter Close to the Cluster. This is Assuming you Have Ruled OUT ALL ABS COMPONENTS, LOOK at These VERY CLOSLY Because of the Small Volts These Wires Carry , the SMALLEST DEFECT WILL Cause this Type of Symptom that you have given. Please try all of the Above, I feel Confedint that athis is where your Problem Is.

Driving down the road with no problems then all of a sudden my instrument panel lights go crazy then my tach and speedo go from zero to a hundred about 5 times

I had this happen on an older caravan and it turned out to be a bad body control module. If it's still under warranty get them to fix it, because it's not cheap.

What would cause all the gauges to fluctuacte on a 01 dodge stratus when its in drive dosent happen in park

on the back of your instrument panel there are little motors soldered on a chip board for each instrument. You can buy everything you need on ebay including new LED lights for about $35 shipped. If you opt to pay someone it'll cost you a great deal more...Bout 375-400. Look on ebay, the motors are called "stepper" motors...it is not too difficult to change these out, just time comsuming...hope this helps you!!!!

2002 dodge stratus temperature gauge is fluctuating

its possible that you have a head gasket starting to go bad and driving it at a higher speed the engine gets hotter and can force combustion chamber gasses into the cooling system causing a higher temp showing up on the gauge.you can get a block test down that hopefully show it up depending how early in the stage the gasket has deteriated.sound this as a diagnostic sign back in the early 80`s.
