The trans was rebuilt 7 months ago, and now I have an intermittent prob with the overdrive indicator and check engine light (codes P0755 & P0758). This happened once before, and seems as though it may be connected to driving through water.Any suggestions?

check the transmission fluid first .
============
overdrive allows the engine to run at lower RPM's , which increases the fuel
economy and also the transmission runs cooler

could be low or dirty (contaminated) fluid , pull the stick and check the level and look at the fluid on a clean white paper towel.. if any really black gunk appears or fluid is a dark brown, time for fluid/filter change...also check detent (downshift ) cable at the tbi unit all the cables usually meet at the same spot throttle etc.. be sure it is not broken or disconnected..good luck..

had a trans guy look at it, and he siad it's probably a sensor problem that would require the trans to be removed to check. He said to stay out of puddles, since getting it wet could be causing the issue (thanks!) but since it's running & shifting well, I shouldn't need to do anything at this point. As much as I like this answer (it's cheap to not do anything), I feel like I'm just waiting for the boom to drop.
