When switching from reverse to drive, stopping at lights and signs, or turning it dies. What could be the problem
Either your fuel pump is getting weak or your lock up converter isn't disengaging. Simply unplug the square 4 prong plug on the side of the transmission and this will disable the locking mechanism of the converter. Don't worry the car will not even know it's disconnected. It will NOT drive any different.

the car will know its dissconnected and will lose gas mileage. OBDII is not so forgiving with removing connectors.its is a possibility. if your car feels like a manual transmission stalling like your in the wrong gear then yes. suspect a TCC soleniod. get it replaced dont just dissconnect it. it can lead to early converter failure and early wear on 3rd gear clutch.
are there any engine lights on? if so get a code from autozone or advanced for free.
also does it die when you turn on the AC? there could abe a few sensors causing a problem. a code will point you in the right direction, but wont always tell you the problem. Also what engine is this the 3.4 or 2.4?
