You'll need the computer and complete wiring harness from the DOHC vehicle. Without that, there's no way the engine will run.

SOURCE: timing belt diagram for 2001 ford escort zx2 dohc

cam shaft timing marks on back of cams ,two slots ,use a flat piece of metal to align .remove no1 spark plug and drop long thin screwdriver down it to bring piston just below tdc, then align cams so both cams are on the rock (valves closed) with knob on back cam aligning with pick up sensor left side between lobes.then bring piston up to tdc and fit belt.turn engine over twice with socket on bottom pulley to make sure no valves clear pistons.Remember to remove flat edge from back of cams i didnt last time and bent my home made tool

SOURCE: pcv valve location

Look just to the right and below your exhaust manifold. There is a tube that plugs into the top of it so it is a little hidden. Good luck.

All of Ford's belt driven engines are non-interference with the exception of the 3.0L villager which was really a nissan.

SOURCE: 2000 ford focus sedan 2.0 dohc ztec engine rear

check all battery leads and earth straps
"" car body and engen bay straps""
also check battery terminals are tight check its full of battery water too if its been low for a time bump it!
and have a ""drop meeter test"" done on the battery if its a bad battery it should show that up first time it could have cracked plates inside the battery its self, test by turning on head lights then hit starter, if every thing go's dead!!!! put ""good jump start"" battery on to car and try it again,,, all should work just fine then,,,,it could just be a flat battery?????

How can you determine what engine you have in a 2000 ford focus zx2

If this is a US market vehicle then it can have the 2.0 liter Dual overhead cam 4 cylinder engine or a 2.0 liter Single overhead cam 4 cylinder engine. The DOHC engine will have the spark plugs running in a line down the center of the valve cover. The SOHC engine will have the spark plugs off to the side of engine closer to the radiator.

Firing order for 3.4 v6 dohc

The firing order is 1-2-3-4-5-6.The coils are from the passengers side towards the drivers side. Are 5-2,3-6,4-1.The front 3 cylinders are 2-4-6 and the rear are 1-3-5.The only other thing is The 3.4 did not come with a dual overhead cam. That was the old 3.4.The best way to tell what motor you have is to look at the 8th digit of the vin number. It will be a T or an E.T is the 2.4 DOHC.This is a 4 cylinder. The E is the v-6 3.4 cylinder engine.Hope this helps.Good luck.

I have a 2000 ford focus 2.0 zetec dual overhead cam with a broken timing belt at low speed. Is this engine a non interference engine?

all Zetec engines (2.0 DOHC) are NOT interference engines. There are deep reliefs cut into the top of the piston to clear the valves when they are fully extended. There will be no valve damage if the timing belt breaks on a Zetec engine.

2000 Ford Focus timing belt failure

If it is the single over head cam (SOHC),chances are you will be o.k.
If it is the dual over head cam (DOHC) , chances are you bent some vales and possible piston damage.
SOHC you can probably do yourself, but the DOHC you need special tools for the set-up of the engine.
Remember to ( after belt is installed ) remove the spark plugs and turn the engine over by hand atleast 2 full turns of the crankshaft.
If while turning by hand the engine stops, you need to reposition the belt on the pulleys. Check the proper diagram, and follow the instructions carefully.
