Try this: Remove the front radio surround fascia, and remove the radio. Disconnect all of the wiring connections behind the radio, wait a minute and plug them all back in. SOmetimes, this resets the radio, and allows that door to be put back into the open position. Works for me about 85% of the time.

If the radio works but the CD player doesn't it's something internal to the unit. The radio and CD player get their power source from the same wire that goes into the unit.
If it has a 6 cd cartridge, try this.Press and HOLD eject button, insert credit card under cartridge move left to right to locate micro switch which will release cartridge so then you can see if one of the discs has jammed.good luck.
