1993 camry v6 A/C Flashing

Hi,

The A/C button flashes on my camry 1993 v6 3.0L with 290k km. First I thought something is blocking the air flow and therefore I replaced the Air Filters. After that the AC worked for over 30 minutes and back to the flashing. Please advice.

good day

    Hi,

The sensor was ok but the wires connecting to it were somehow burnt. But indeed your solution helped. You are my hero. And thank you fixya for providing such a portal which helps people like me who hardly knows anything about cars and eventually are fooled by the local mechanics.

    Thank you again.
    regards
    Azmath Shaik

The AC light is flashing because the AC compressor "revolution sensor" is not working properly. You need to consider replacing the Revolution sensor that is located on the side of the compressor. You need a pro to do this, as the Freon will escape if you try this yourself.

I NEED INSTRUCTION ON HOW TO FIX MY HIGH FUEL CONSUMPTION PROBLEM,TOYOTA CAMRY 1999 V6 MODEL Details

This can be caused by a variety of problems:
- very dirty air cleaner element- incorrect ignition timing- emissions system faulty (EGR valve blocked)- fuel injection system faulty (pressure relief valve blocked)- MAP sensor failed- throttle position sensor faulty- coolant temp sensor faulty- air temp sensor faulty

For most of these a trouble code should be available to steer you in the right direction. Is the check engine light flashing a code?

Engine light flashing twice then 4 times or 24

These issues are unrelated. The input air temp sensor is indicated by code 24. That sensor is integrated with the airflow sensor. I don't remember which pins, but you can find info online. Che k the connector and wiring first. Tne sensor is expensive. For the overdrive issue, do you have clean fluid? You can try some additive.

Is a airflow meter for v6 1993 camry needed? I am trying to put an cold air intake, but im not sure if i can remove the airflow meter or not. also any help on intalling a cold air intake on the car would...

You MUST have the air flow meter installed on your vehicle. The car will not run if you remove it. The Air Flow Meter measures the amount of air coming into the engine, and also the air temperature. This information is sent to the fuel injection computer, to determine the proper fuel to be injected. In reality, cars with "air-flow meters" do not really "benefit" from a cold air intake, due to the inherent restriction that the air flow meter causes, as it measures the air.
In short, I would not install the intake, you won't see much benefit. The graciousness of a FixYa rating for my assistance would be greatly appreciated..

Fuel efficency

check for a split in the air intake tube. the v6 has a mass air flow sensor. if air is entering the engine without being counted by the mass air flow sensor it will cause a rich condition.

1996 Toyota Camry a/c problems

Hi entrepreneur,
Was what came out smoke or vapour....Sounds as if you may have been using it on auto and if so just have alook at the LED on the selction button....is it flashing out a code or is it a steady light?....It could be the expansion valve or it may be the electronic control unit....If you have a code that's showing....count the number of flashes it gives....thats the fault code number....Get that info first, so that we can go on from there....
