The cruise control should have a fuse in the interior fuse block, and a larger fuse and/or relay under hood in the relay center block. Test them with an automotive test light (You can purchase these for anywhere from $5.00 to $50.00 depending on the quality you want and the place of purchase).

If you find a bad fuse or primary fuse, obviously those need to be replaced. Relays can't be tested readily using the light. Unfortunately the simplest method for finding out if a relay is bad is to replace it. The relay for that cruise runs between $15.00 to $20.00 depending where you purchase.

Let me know how it goes and we'll see what more we can do!

Locate the Fuse Relay Box under the Hood. There is a Relay in this Box for the Cruise Control. Also, Check EVERY Fuse with a Good Flashlight in the Fuse Relay Box and the Fuse Panel inside the Car. Replace ANY Blown Fuses, If it still will not Work, Then replace the Relay in the Box under the Hood. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

My 2000 ford focus zts starts and runs good until i put it in drive then i drive up to a stoplight or sign then it cuts off unless i keep my foot on the gas, could it be my alternator? please help, thanks

Nope.
Problem sounds like a faulty idle air control valve or dirty throttle body.
The computer adjusts idle speed by the control valve and how much air it lets into the intake.
Is the check engine light on ?

My 2000 focus zx3 kona has cruise control but it does not work. In addition the factory sterio works in cd mode, but not in radio mode. nothing but stattic

far as radio goes might just be attenana wire came loose or off
as far as crusie control there are alot things that could be wrong with it easiest thing would be to check fuses if there good best thing would be to take it somewhere and have it looked at

Have a 2000 Ford focus zts battery light keeps coming on.

This is often mistaken as an alternator or battery problem. If you also are having a problem with the engine idling a bit low (less than 600rpm) when stopped and in Drive without the a/c on, it is likely a throttle body sensor issue. Because the sensor is bad, the engine idles lower than it should and will cause the 'battery light' to come on and go off seemingly randomly.

I have a 2001 Focus station wagon. the cruise control will not engage. And the high beams will not stay on (I can flick them, but they won't stay). Are these loose switches of some sort, that I could...

I would check the easy things first. That is the brake switch and the clutch switch (manual trans). Drive down the road and pull the brake pedal up with your foot and then try to set the cruise (same with the clutch pedal). Also the cruise requires that the brake light bulbs be in working order (and that there are no LED brake lights). Check fuse numbers 53 54 and 59.
The high beam problem might be related to the cruise issue, but I can't think of a reason why.

Car will not go over 40 miles when on the road the fuel fillter has been changed and the check engine light is on

I've had this same problem with my 2000 Ford Focus several years ago and it was linked to a cruise control recall. Something about a cable getting stuck. If you have cruise control you may want to look into it. I was able to correct the problem by playing with the cruise control buttons until I could take it in to be corrected.
