I had the dealer flush the system the summer of 2006 or 2007. The radiator was also changed. since then I have had little to no heat in the van. we recently flushed the heating system again and pulled the hoses on the heating core and flushed that also to no avail. I'm at my wit's end. how do I fix this?
Two most common causes of your problem are low coolant ( air in the heater core) and a thermo stat stuck open. If you have a temperature gauge and it is reading on the low side. Like 140 Deg or less, you need a new engine thermostat. Feel the top of the radiator tank after the car has been driven. If it is too hot to touch, the thermostat is no the problem. As the system has been flushed and filled I suspect there is enough coolant. Last item on the list is the coolant valve for the heater core. Many cars have a water valve located in line with the supply pipe to the heater core. This valve may be in the engine compartment or under the dash. Check the heater temperature control and follow the cables. One cable most likly goes to this valve. Maybe a cable retaining clop has fallen off

2002 MPV ES with front/rear A/C. 105,000 miles.
Coolant disappears out of reservoir after drive of 40-50 miles.
If not refilled then, and driven another few days, on a cold day heater will not work, and temp gauge may rise.
No evidence of leak that can be seen, including under rear cabin cooling hoses.
Option 1 - Head Gasket?
Option 2 - Water Pump (If only leaking when engine is hot, coolant may evaporate, which would explain why no leaks detected.)
Option 3 - Internal leak to heater core (but no odors yet)
Option 4 - ????
