Smelling antifreeze through the vents of my 2004 jeep liberty not strong and then it goes away

im not getting any windows foggin up or antifreeze on te carpet just a slight odor coming from the vents

If you smell antifreeze from the vents the heater core is leaking, you will most likely also have residue on the inside on the windshield

you could also be developing a heater core leak. if you start seeing fluid on the carpet or windows fog on the inside when defrosters are on, you got trouble. better to fix the problem now then in the middle of winter.

check level of coolant and check for leaks and unless you wiped clean your engine after doing repair most possible is coolant residue burning off engine

My 06 liberty renegade smells hot and sweet inside....but there are no signs of leakage and im not losing anti freeze and my windshield passed the heater core fog test.....what could be causing the smell

Could be a leak in one of your hoses under the hood, a water pump gasket, thermostat leak or bad heater core. Check under the hood for any signs of leaks. If antifreeze drip onto a hot engine block, you’ll smell it coming in through the vents. If you don’t find any leaks, I’d consider the heater core having an issue possibly.

Gas smell in cab

check the evap canister if the car is over filled to much the charcole in the canister will get saturated and can cause that smell also have the tank and lines checked for leaks

Have a 2004 jeep liberty when u have the heat on there is a slight odor in the vents like antifreeze. the heater works well. and there is no leaks coming onto the ground.

jeeps are known for bad heater cores,and it sounds like yours is starting

I smell antifreeze through the heater vents in my 2002 jeep liberty.Its just smells for an instant then goes away.I know these heater cores have crimpt on ends and may be leaking there.its a pain to...
