SOURCE: 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan spare tire won't come

Raise it back up, the cable has a small end that must go up into the bracket to release the lock. With the weight of the tire on the cable the lock will release. You may need to kick the tire a few times to make sure it is hanging and not stuck. When it comes down, you'll se how it works (really dumb design) I had one where after lowering the tire to check the pressure, it would not go all the way back up. There is a grooved pulley that pulls the cable up, and if the cable jumps a groove, it will not pull the tire all the way up. The only way I got it back up was to cut a window on the side of the housing and reset the cable and wound it back 1/2 way.

There is a plug inside on the floor right in front of the floor console that has a nut you need to turn to let the tire down and raise back up when you are done.

SOURCE: 2006 dodge grand caravan cargo floor stuck

In the middle of the folds in the floor, there is a slide lock button. It is color keyed to your interior or shows red. I can't recall which is locked. This may be your problem. Also both front seats must be forward to open them all the way.

What do I do if the spare tire assembly won't fully retract on a 2005 T&C

It's probably pretty badly rusted. Put the spare in the rear of the car, and wire the cable up to something so it won't drag until you can work on it.

When you can, spray a huge amount of WD40 into the mechanism. Repeat several times. Work the mechanism back & forth again & again with its crank handle - you might get lucky, it might free up. If not... you'll just have to carry the spare inside the car unless you're willing to replace the spare carrier mechanism.

Where spair tyre located in dodge caravan 2005

the spare tire is located under and behind the engine compartment. If you look on the floor board between the drivers and passenger side you will find and plastic cap. Underneth is a hex head bolt that lowers the spare tire. You will find the bolt socket in the jack bag. This is the location for the stow-n-go vans sir.

Where is the spare tire located on a 1995 ford aerostar?

Section 00-02: Lifting, Jacking and Spare Tire Stowage 1995 Aerostar, Ranger, Explorer Workshop Manual
TIRE STOWAGE Tire, Spare, Removal, Aerostar If the Aerostar is a standard length vehicle the spare tire is mounted inside to a carrier at the left rear quarter panel. To remove the spare tire, remove the wing nut and plate. A flat tire can be temporarily stowed in the same location.

If the Aerostar is the bus with a standard length body or extended length (all models), the temporary spare tire is stowed at the rear of the vehicle under the body. The Aerostar standard length E-4WD bus spare tire is mounted on the floor.
  1. Insert lug nut wrench into the actuator hole and turn counterclockwise until the cable extends to allow the spare tire to be pulled rearward from under the vehicle.
  1. Slide spare tire to the rear and remove the retainer from the wheel.
  1. To stow cable/retainer with spare tire removed, insert cable fitting into carrier rear wall slot, place wheel retainer against the carrier, and turn lug nut wrench clockwise until slack is removed.

Where is the spare tire

It depends if you have stow and go seating, Look under the vehicle up by the front bench seats (middle of vehicle). Usually its at the very rear of the vehicle underneath. You will need the Tire wrench(or 19mm socket with wrench) to lower it into place via the winch adapter(Located in the floor, covered by an acces door or carpet cut out).

ABS light on

the abs and traction control are the same system generally the sensor gets damaged or the ring gear it reads most newer vehicles the sensor and ring gear are part of the wheel bearing although some are external start by checking the wires and connections if there cut or corroded that can cause a light or if you can see the ring gear check it for cracks an gouges small imperfections will disrupt the signal also just to note a different sized tire can cause a false reading (ie spare or mismatched tires) because the wheels are spining at different speeds but it might be a job for the shop special scan tools aid in the diagnosis hope this helps
