Defective turn light sensors on 2002 Mercedes S430

2002 Mercedes S430 dash says that my L & R turn signal lamps need to be replaced but they work fine; I think the sensors are bad. Is that difficult to repair and, if not, how do I do it?Adding details will get you a faster solution from experts

Thanks Jeff; I'll do a more thorough inspection. Very helpful information!

Thanks Dave; I went through that exercise yesterday but the problem still persists. It seems to happen after the car has been sitting in the sun; I wonder if heat is somehow a factor? I'll try replacing the bulbs today and see if that does the trick.

Replaced the bulbs today and it seems to have solved the problem; thanks again for the input!

Are you sure ALL lights are working? If one or both rear signals are out, the system is capable of powering a different bulb (such as a brake light or marker light). There aren't really "sensors" that detect a bulb outage. Each bulb is power separately by the Signal Acquisition Module, which sends power through the bulb, and then to ground. If a bulb is burnt, there will be no current flowing to ground. This is how it detects a bulb outage. Your best bet would be to take the bulbs out and inspect all of them.
Hope this helps!

The bulbs can be working but weak. The activity module might be sensning the power at the limit. You can have bulbs that will go soon or even dirty or loose sockets or conneccftors for the bulbs. If the bulb is lit then before you go buy a new one just take the bulb out and put it back in a couple of times.Usually this is all it takes to make good electrical contact with the bulbs. Usually the bulbs will wear down its contacts from vibration over time and won't be ablle to light. The filiment actually is the last thing to go unlike house light bulbs. Just remeber to check your manual for the correct bulb if you replace and if one goes then expect some of the others to follow.

SOURCE: Instruments lamps don't turn on in Mercedes 300E 1992

First
Make sure your dash "dimmer" is not turned all the way done, its a small rod thats twists clockwise to increase dash illumination, counter clockwise to decrease...
Next..the bulbs in the back of the gauge cluster might be burned out , if they are the original bulbs, thats probably the case...

Brake lamp light on a 2002 Honda Accord SE

I assume you mean the one on the dash. This is an indicator that there is a problem in your braking system. Make sure it's not low on Brake fluid and have the brake system checked or check it yourself. If your going to check it yourself I recommend the Haynes repair manual on your vehicle as a reference.

2002 BMW325i, on the dash, warning light indicating bad bulb

There is no sensor. The lamp module monitors bulbs. Check the connector on the rear bulb carrier. The ground wires like to corrode and melt the plastic.
