Removing an alternator from a 92 9000

Can anyone offer any advice on removing an alternator on a 92 9000? I have it disconnected. However, I cannot get it out from the top or the bottom of the car. I removed the upper mount, the power steering reservoir and hoses are out of the way, and I removed the pulley from the alternator. I still can't get it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

How to remove the alternator

On a 2004 GMC Envoy xl v6, the alternator has 3 mounting bolts, 2 on top, 1 on bottom. best advice is to disconnect the electrical circuits to the alternator first before removing the mounting bolts. then take off the bottom bolt, followed by the 2 on top. then just slide it out and your done.

Alternater died this am i am mechanically inclined can i change it my self and how big a job is it

If you have some basic tools it should not be to big a job. Go to your auto parts store, some will test the Alternator in the car and most of the people there are willing to offer advice as well. Call first to find out if they offer FREE Testing for alternators, etc.

99 Olds Intruige removing the alternator

disconnect the + lead of the battery
Remove the wires going to the alternator. Mark them with a piece of tape so you can put them back to the same terminal.
there are probably two bolts that need to be removed. One will be fastened to a slotted strap. Removing this one will allow the alternator to pivot on the remaining bolt. This will be the one that allows the fan belt to be removed from the pulley on the alternator. Removing the 2nd will allow the alternator to be removed from the engine.
Installation of the replacement is the reverse procedure. Aftere you install the 2nd bolt, put the fan belt back in the slot and pull the alternator so the slack is taken up in the belt, then tighten the bolt
