While I'm driving, the speedometer will move up and down causing the speed to slow down, and **** the van back and forth. it has even stayed at 0 when i'm stepping on the gas pedal. no acceleration, but the van is still moving, it just won't accelerate. Please help, i don't have alot of money to send it to a shop to diagnose it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like you have a transmission problem, could be the valve body, or a bad band. I would check the fluid first it could be low. Just make sure the engine is warm, and the van is in park, then check the fluid.

This problem could be as simple as a TPS (throttle position sensor). Some vehicles are now drive by wire. This means that there is no actual throttle cable. When the gas pedal is depressed, it sends a signal to the CPU and tells how far the pedal has been pushed. How many miles do you have on this? Sometimes a plugged catalytic converter can cause a vehicle to accellerate slowly and cause you to "butterfly" the pedal and make it hard to get over 60-70 MPH. Hope this gives you some ideas.
