You gave me some helpful tips. Wanted to see if you had any more ideas regarding my avalanche that won't start. I have check the connections and had the starter tested. I don't believe its the battery my windows go down, lights go on, and tried to jump it again. thanks for your help.
This was an easy fix-I dont know anything about the machanics of a vehicle nor what to call most parts so you will have to forgive me...I was told to check all fuses including the ones under the hood and the breakers too and sure enough I found that one of the 20amp fuses under the hood in the black box just above the drivers side wheel was the problem, once I switched it out i was good to go.
Another person wrote this, I was trying to find more info for you.
I'm answering my own post so other's may reference. The problem was my
Powertrain Control Moudle (PCM) kept blowing out due to a bad fuel pump.
so if you are inclined to check, your fuel pump can still work and not work correctly. So this needs to be tested under correct measures. More than likely on the truck. But I would locate the PCM and check to see if its blown.
If I find anything else I will forward it to you.

My truck is 2003 with 54,000 miles and has always run great. One day it just would not start like if the battery die. It doesn't try to crank over. The check engine light comes on, battery indicator also. Its a mystery.
Ok, I would start with the Distribtor and rotor if your car has this. Then check the power going to the coil, then the coil, you can test the coil with an ohms meter. Then check the wires, plugs. Now that we have gone threw the electric. You need to verify you are getting fuel. Is it getting fuel at the right psi. Then the injectors. Now if the car can be tested on a diagnostic computer, you can get the last codes in the memory. This will tell you if you have a sensor going out. Also make sure the mechanical timing is set. The problem you have now is just going threw all the motions. Also for a few dollars you can get a compression tester for you car. It goes where the plugs go. When you crank the starter it will give you your compression levels to tell you if you have enough pressure to even allow the ignition process.
Hope this helps. Let me know what else you find. The more you can tell me, the more I can help you out.
good luck
