My mitsubishi galant suddenly won't start

Car starting and driving just fine, made a few stops and then went home. Got back in car a few hours later(temperature is only about 18 degrees here in Ohio) and turned the key in the ignition and there was no response at all--no lights on dashboard on, no clicking when turn key in ignition-car completely dead! We just installed a new starter 9 months ago!

1. Check n clean battery cables with a battery brush. Look at both ends, if able.
2. Check battery acid level. Add if needed, get a jump.
3. All OK? Then get a battery load-test done free at a parts store.

18 degrees in September? Isn't that Celsius?

SOURCE: 2001 Mitsubishi Galant - Key won't turn

Try turning your steering wheel while turning the key. Sometimes the wheel lock will prevent the key from turning.

Sincerely,

SOURCE: my 2000 mitsubishi galant es went dead, motor will turn over but

do you have spark? How do you know if your timing belt is good? sometimes it doesnt break just shed the teeth which could be missing under the crankshaft. The best way to check is to have two people. have one try to start the car and see if the camshaft is actually spinning. The crankshaft will always turn but if the teeth are gone on timing belt this would cause the belt to stay in one position not moving the camshaft. so if you can remove the upper timing belt cover and do this quick inspection with someone that will tell you for sure. if it does look like it is spinning then by hand turn engine very slowly with plug coil wires removed. and make sure teeth are all there. It couldve jumped timing. (valve timing)

SOURCE: 2003 Galant Clicking noise when trying to start.

It is your battery it may not be completly dead but it is too dead to run the starter. It take 300 -600 amp to run a starter and 20 amp to run a stereo

SOURCE: No dashboard/odometer lights and no rear lights

just go to the fuse box in the engine compartment and look for the (red 1Oamp) tail light fuse... it might be broken just replace and that should solve your problem.

I have a 1997 dodge avenger es 2.5 liter here's

Check the vacuum line on the fuel pressure regulator for any sign of gas being sucked into the line. A failed regulator will let extra gas get into the engine. If it's okay, have the fuel pressure checked. That's sure a lot of gas, way too much for the engine. Good luck.

I started the engine twice after the engine was already running...I assume I might have flooded the engine with fuel? But when I turned off the engine the car didn't start again and the Anti-Lock Light...

If the engine is running when you try to use the starter, it won't flood the engine, it is already running. What happens is the starter gear tries to lock into the flywheel and this causes the starter to spin faster then it is supposed to. It is likely you damaged the starter and it needs replaced. You can remove it and have Auto Zone test it for free.

I was driving home all of the sudden my car went off so I pulled over checked the engine and I saw that the timed belt was ripped off, I replaced it set it up but still wont start should I looked for some...

Do a compression check on the motor. If it seems to be turning over faster than it did before the timing belt break, you may have bent your valves in the machine head. With out fixing the valves and restoring compression the motor will not run.
